The key objective of the activities performed in the State Forests is to ensure forest continuity and its multifunctional role. Apart from economic and social functions exercised by forests, there is also its protective function which nowadays is gaining importance.
Certain activities related to environmental protection performed by men have an impact on the surrounding landscape, flora and fauna. After the second world war three nature reserves were established within the Babimost Forest District, namely:
- „Grodziszcze", established in 1969,
- „Laski", established in 1977,
- „Kręcki Łęg", established in 1987
